The Valspar Championship Player Transportation Committee is new on Our list of tournaments as of 2022.
Committee volunteers provide transportation to players, their family members and VIP guests before, during and after the tournament. Volunteers assist with the car inventory and control the distribution of official tournament vehicles. The committee also assists in the staging (at TPA) and return of the courtesy vehicles after the tournament. Drivers must be at least 25 years old and provide a valid driver’s license. This Committee sometimes requires a lot of downtime due to the players' unpredictable schedule so it is recommended that you bring a book to pass time. If downtime allows, you may even have the chance to check out play in-person as we are usually located near the driving range or one of the holes.
You get to drive some nice cars and get to meet some really nice people.
Until 2024 - unlike other tournaments - the Valspar Championship Player Transportation Committee also includes player shuttles. Those are 4 or 6-seater carts, that transport players and caddies from their locker room and dining building (Edinburgh Hall) to the back of the clubhouse area as well as the practice area. As of 2025, this is now the Player Cart Shuttle committee and NOT part of VIP / Player Transportation anymore.

An important note about the Host Organization - The Copperhead Charities:
The tournament is operated by Copperhead Charities. Copperhead Charities’ mission is to operate a world-class professional golf tournament on the PGA TOUR which consistently drives charitable funds into the community, while generating a positive economic impact, promoting the region nationally and internationally, and providing an unforgettable event experience for sponsors, patrons, and volunteers. More than 1,800+ volunteers contribute their time and efforts annually, leading up to, during and post tournament week. Since its inception in 1977, the tournament has generated and given nearly $50 million to Tampa Bay charities.
