Transportation Committee

The Genesis Invitational Transportation Committee is "Our  favorite committee" - always great volunteers, wonderful PGA TOUR - and as of 2017, Tiger Woods Foundation - staff, and fabulous players and families to drive around!

WE  ARE  ALWAYS  LOOKING  FOR  VOLUNTEERS

The committee volunteers provide transportation to players, their family members and VIP guests before, during and after the tournament. Volunteers assist with the car inventory and control the distribution of the official tournament vehicles. The committee also assists in the return of vehicles after the tournament. Drivers must be at least 25 years old and provide a valid driver’s license. This Committee sometimes requires a lot of downtime due to the players' unpredictable schedule so it is recommended that you bring a book to pass time. If downtime allows, you may even have the chance to check out play in-person as we are usually located near the driving range or one of the holes.

However, when it's busy, then it can get quite crazy. Traditionally,  Monday and Tuesday at the beginning of tournament week, the majority of the players arrives from the previous tournament (which has been the Pro-Am at Pebble Beach, CA for many years, but as of 2022 it will be the Waste Management Phoenix Open). We do have players arrive from there Sunday afternoon already, but not too many. On 'cut' day (Friday) half of the field leaves town, which also means a very busy afternoon and evening for us. Of course then, Sunday, as soon as the 1st players come off the course after their last round, everyone has to get back to LAX or their hotel - in case they travel Monday.

Thanks to many return volunteers, we are usually well-staffed, but it is always great to add some more new volunteers to the group. That way, we can function more efficiently and allow for more breaks.

You get to drive some nice cars and get to meet some really nice people.
